International Scholars in DH: Labor, Care and Careers

International Scholars and Alt-Ac Professionals, do you have an interest in Digital Humanities and feel uncertain about your paths to success in US higher academia? Join us for a Professional Development Session dedicated to information-sharing, reflection, connection, and affirmation as we navigate the challenges and opportunities of the world around us and build collective strength through care and support. This session is designed primarily for international (to US academia) students and researchers, early career scholars, mentors to these scholars, and other individuals in ACH who are curious. We aim to foster an ongoing dialogue, connect you with one another, and inspire motivation in your professional future in Digital Humanities. There are many opportunities for international scholars and professionals in DH, itself a very international arena, but these come with challenges and this session is designed as a time to reflect upon these through our experiences, and to provide community and some resources to help in our journeys. You will have opportunities to share your experiences, ask questions, and gain valuable insights from peers in the field. Together, we will explore strategies for long-term professional success and build a supportive community.
