 ence Focus: Emergence/ia</h2>\n \n <p>ACH 2026 exp
lores how we create and collaborate through moment
s of exigency in a bilingual\, virtual conference.
  In Spanish\, <em>emergencia</em> can mean both "e
mergence" and "emergency." This dual meaning serve
s as our starting point. While <em>emergenc<strong
 >e</strong>/ia</em> speaks to growth\, connection\
 , and creation\, <em>emergenc<strong>y</strong>/ia
</em> signals moments of urgency that demand care\
, response\, and transformation. ACH 2026 seeks to
ask: What forms of knowledge creation in the digi
tal humanities (broadly defined) are emerging from
pressing challenges across the Americas? How do d
igital humanists respond to emergencies through kn
owledge creation\, while being mindful of ramifica
tions of computing for environmental crises? What
insights do themes of transnationalism and solidar
ity reveal across the Americas about our work and
communities\, and the role of emerging technology
 in shaping both?</p>\n \n <p>ACH fosters dialogue
and solidarity on equity and justice across local\
, transborder\, and global contexts in an inclusiv
 e space. As a bilingual conference\, ACH 2026 welc
omes proposals and presentations in Spanish and En
glish\; we encourage presenters to decenter\, comp
licate\, and resituate the United States in their
approach to the Americas. We are interested in rec
eiving proposals from participants with a range of
expertise and roles\, including international wor
 kers and students\, alt-ac positions\, employment
outside of higher education\, and graduate and und
